These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern participation in all Forge programmes, courses, and related services. By enrolling on a Forge programme, you agree to these Terms.
1. Course Enrolment and Payment
A place on a Forge programme is secured upon payment of the required deposit following an offer of a place.
The remaining course fee must then be paid either in full or through an agreed payment plan. Any payment plan must be completed according to the agreed schedule.
Fees, deposits, cancellations, and refunds are subject to the provisions below and to any rights you may have under applicable consumer law.
1.1 Forge Bursary Fund
If you wish to be considered for financial support from the Forge Bursary Fund, you should discuss this with Forge before paying your course deposit.
By paying your deposit, you confirm that you are accepting your place on the basis that you will pay the full course fee applicable to your enrolment (including any confirmed early-bird discount), either as a single payment or through an agreed payment plan, and that you are not seeking support from the Forge Bursary Fund for that enrolment.
This does not prevent you from seeking financial support from an external organisation or third-party bursary scheme.
2. Cancellations and Refunds
2.1 Your Right to Cancel
Where you are enrolling as a consumer and applicable law provides you with a statutory cancellation period, you may cancel your enrolment within 14 days of entering into the contract without giving a reason.
To cancel, you must notify Forge clearly in writing by emailing [email protected].
Where you validly exercise your statutory right to cancel, Forge will refund payments received from you in accordance with applicable consumer law.
If you ask Forge to begin providing services during the 14-day cancellation period, you may be required to pay a proportionate amount for any services already provided before you cancel, where permitted by law.
2.2 Cancellation After the Cancellation Period
After any applicable statutory cancellation period has expired, your deposit is non-refundable, except where required by law or where Forge agrees otherwise in exceptional circumstances.
If you subsequently decide not to participate in the programme, please notify Forge as soon as possible.
Any course fees already paid after the applicable cancellation period are normally non-refundable. Where you are paying by instalments, withdrawal from the programme does not automatically cancel your obligation to make the remaining payments due under your agreed payment plan.
Forge recognises that exceptional circumstances can arise and may, at its discretion, consider requests for alternative arrangements. Any such decision will be made on a case-by-case basis and does not affect your statutory rights.
2.3 Cancellation by Forge
In the unlikely event that Forge cancels an entire programme before it begins and is unable to offer a suitable alternative, participants will be entitled to a refund of course fees and deposits paid for that programme.
If Forge needs to cancel or reschedule an individual session, seminar, rehearsal review, or other element of the programme, Forge will take reasonable steps to provide an appropriate alternative. Changes of this kind do not normally entitle participants to a refund, provided that the overall nature and quality of the programme are maintained.
Nothing in this section limits any rights or remedies available to you under applicable consumer law.
3. Participation and Conduct
Participants are expected to engage professionally and respectfully with tutors, mentors, staff, and fellow participants.
Forge reserves the right to suspend or terminate a participant’s enrolment where their behaviour seriously disrupts the learning environment or breaches these Terms or the Forge Code of Practice.
No refund will be issued in such circumstances unless required by law.
3.1 Code of Practice
All participants are required to adhere to Forge’s Code of Practice, which sets out the standards of professionalism, participation, and behaviour expected within the Forge community.

By enrolling, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to abide by the Code throughout your participation in Forge programmes.
The Code of Practice should be read alongside Forge’s Safeguarding Policy.
3.2Â SafeguardingÂ
Forge is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment for all participants, tutors, mentors, and staff.
All participants are expected to act in accordance with Forge’s Safeguarding Policy and to maintain appropriate professional boundaries in their interactions with others within the Forge community.
If you have a safeguarding concern relating to yourself or another person, or if something is disclosed to you that may constitute a safeguarding concern, you should report it to Forge as soon as reasonably possible using the contact details set out in the Safeguarding Policy. You should not attempt to investigate a safeguarding concern yourself.
Forge will respond to safeguarding concerns in accordance with its Safeguarding Policy and may take appropriate action where necessary to protect participants or others.

4. Intellectual Property
All Forge course materials, including videos, presentations, teaching materials, and written resources, are protected by copyright and remain the property of Forge or the relevant rights holder.
Participants may not reproduce, distribute, publish, or share Forge materials without prior written permission.
Any original work created by participants during the course, including compositions, arrangements, or conducting materials, remains the intellectual property of the participant.
Forge may reproduce excerpts of such work only in accordance with the provisions described in Section 6 (Recordings and Student Work) and, where required, with the participant’s consent.
5. Liability
Forge takes reasonable care in the design and delivery of its programmes but does not accept liability for loss or damage arising from participation except where caused by Forge’s negligence, breach of statutory duty, or where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
Participants remain responsible for ensuring that their participation in Forge complies with any relevant local laws, professional requirements, or institutional policies that apply to them.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or any statutory rights available to you as a consumer.
6. Recordings and Student Work
Forge records certain course activities, including online sessions, seminars, and rehearsal reviews. These recordings form an essential part of the Forge learning experience and may include your image, voice, and contributions.
6.1 Educational Use – Integral to Course Delivery
Recordings are made for educational and administrative purposes – for example, enabling participant review, tutor feedback, sharing learning within the cohort, and programme quality assurance.
Recording is therefore a core component of Forge’s teaching delivery. By enrolling, you agree that relevant sessions may be recorded and made available internally to your course cohort, tutors, mentors, or Forge staff where necessary for these purposes.
The lawful basis for this processing is contractual necessity under UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b).
6.2 Subscriber, Paywalled and Promotional Use
From time to time, Forge may wish to make short excerpts of educational recordings available through subscriber-only, paywalled, or restricted-access services designed to extend learning opportunities to a wider professional audience.
Forge may also wish to use short excerpts for promotional purposes, including on Forge’s website, newsletters, social-media channels, presentations, or other promotional materials.
These uses are subject to your separate, explicit consent, which is requested during enrolment.
You may withdraw this consent at any time by contacting [email protected]. Withdrawal will not affect the lawfulness of any use made before your consent was withdrawn.
All recordings will be used only in contexts consistent with Forge’s mission to support conductor training and professional development. Forge will never sell or license participant recordings to unrelated third parties.
7. Privacy and Data Protection
Forge complies with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
We collect and process personal data only where necessary to deliver our programmes, manage enrolments, communicate with participants, meet legal obligations, and operate Forge appropriately.
Our full policy on the collection, storage, processing, and use of personal data – including recordings and promotional materials – is set out in the Forge Privacy Policy.
By enrolling, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the Privacy Policy.
8. Programme Changes
Forge aims to deliver each programme as described at the time of enrolment. However, it may occasionally be necessary to make reasonable changes to programme content, scheduling, tutors, mentors, seminars, or other elements of course delivery.
Where changes are necessary, Forge will take reasonable steps to ensure that the overall nature, quality, and learning outcomes of the programme are maintained and will communicate significant changes to participants as soon as reasonably possible.
Where a scheduled tutor or mentor becomes unavailable, Forge may appoint a suitably experienced replacement.
9. Force Majeure
Forge will not be liable for delays, disruption, or cancellation caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control. These may include, but are not limited to, serious illness, major technology or platform failure, interruption to internet or communications services, strikes, natural disasters, government action, or other unforeseen events.
Where reasonably possible, Forge will seek to provide alternative arrangements or reschedule affected teaching.
10. Governing Law
These Terms and any disputes arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you participate in Forge from outside England and Wales, this does not affect any mandatory consumer rights or protections that may apply to you under applicable law.
